Parking: Free on surface lots after 5pm, garages have parking meters

Optional Dinner: 5:30 ish

 Restaurants across the street include:

      Dragon Express –   inexpensive chinese

      Soma –   coffee/tea/ pastries, with a few inexpensive sandwiches and  salads options

      Mother Bears –     local favorite chicago style pizza

      Sunny Poke –     hawaiian- think sushi in a bowl, with a few non raw fish options

      Ami –      a little bit nicer japanese and korean restaurant. 

Directions: from I-69 S, take exit 120Atowards 45N, 46E. take this road for about 4-5                        miles and turn right onto E 3rd street. This is a bigger intersection with 4-5 lanes. Follow 3rd street (left lane, the street narrows to this lane) for about a mile and then turn right onto Eagleson Ave. As you travel down 3rd, you will pass by a limestone wall that says Indiana University and that’s about 2/3rds of the way. There are a few dorms and then the east studio building, which is a nicer and newer looking academic building, is at the corner of 3rd and Eagleson. It has a modern art sculpture in front that a little like vertical music staffs but the sculpture does come up quick. 

Description:

The tour will include: 

Kathie Stewart, who is our harpsichord technician and a baroque flutist will give us a 30 minute tour of the historic program and early keyboard instruments. That’s from 7:30-8pm. She’s also in the annex or circular building so it won’t be too far of a walk.

I am hoping to use the rest of the time to show some of our concert spaces, a few classrooms, our current and our work in progress, future shop, and most of our buildings. I don’t think I can show everything but I think people will get a nice overview.

I’ve included a map of the music school buildings. The highlighted red buildings are the school of music buildings. The blue are parking lots. I recommend one of the square/rectangular parking lots. The north south road is Eagleson Ave and the east west road is E 3rd Street
